80s & 90s Escape Room

80s & 90s Nostalgia Escape Room Backstory & Hints

Housekeeping

If you've done a bunch of escape rooms, you know the drill.
Basically don't break stuff. Here's the rules:
  • No pictures need to be removed from the walls.
  • Nothing needs to be torn apart or requires more than one-finger force.
  • Please be careful and don't hurt yourself!
  • Please leave the escape room pieces where you found them so we don't lose anything.

Enough about the rules, have fun!

Backstory

If for some reason the VHS tape didn't work for you, here is the intro video:

SMALL HINT
Code opens the metal box.
Rubik's cubes need to go into a black box from the kids' room for the next step. Match the white squares. Add colors up. Where do you see those colors in that order?
BIG HINT
First match the white squares on the Rubik's cubes to the white squares in the boxes. Then add up the color squares for each section that has the same color dot. So if there are two red dots on one and one on another, that's 2+1=3, which is your red number.  Do that for all 4 colors. These go into the lock with 4-color numbers.
